Carson Dellosa Education Helps Hungry Neighbors in Franklin County

COLUMBUS, Ohio | March 25, 2019

We’re dedicated to giving back and keeping kids’ minds and bellies full.

With a mission to give back to the community, employees of our Columbus office volunteered with the Mid-Ohio Foodbank to prepare after-school meals to ensure that local children do not go to bed hungry. We sent a dozen eager helpers to work for the Kids Café, a meal program for students at the South Side Learning & Development Center and the Boys & Girls Club of Columbus.

After eight fun-filled hours, our team had portioned hundreds of fresh fruit cups, celery and carrot sticks with ranch, containers of “wowbutter” (tastes just like peanut butter!), chips, yogurt, and more tasty treats.

Located in Grove City, Ohio, The Mid-Ohio Foodbank distributes more than 140,000 meals every day to hungry people across central and eastern Ohio, and we are proud to have offered our time to such an important organization.

2019 marks the 39th anniversary of the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. Last year, it distributed about 66 million pounds of food, half of which was fresh. Yet, there is still a huge “meal gap” in our surrounding communities. Each year, hungry neighbors in Franklin County miss about 69 million meals and across the organization’s 20-county footprint, about 145 million meals are missed each day.
